Mrs. Mary - Classroom Directress
Miss Katie - Classroom Assistant
Ms. Mary has worked at Creative Montessori Center since 1991. She completed her Montessori training through Little Saints Montessori in 1998, and taught preschool in Kansas City before coming to live in Michigan. She completed an internship under one of CMC's teachers, and has been a directress ever since. She is the proud mother of three daughters: Christy, Katie, and Courtney (who attended CMC from 1991-1994). She has an amazing spirit, and brings and enormous amount of joy to the school. She has been with CMC through a lot, and has proven to be a source of strength and support when it is needed most. She has a very easy-going personality that the children (and staff members) love, but maintains a very high level of professionalism in dealing with the parents. She is one of the reasons CMC has had so much success throughout the years.
Mrs. Chey- Classroom Directress
Ms. Billie Jo - Classroom Assistant
Mrs. Chey came to work at Creative Montessori Center in 2002. She graduated from Riverview High School, and worked at the Southgate Center in food service management from 1977-2001. She joined our staff on a part-time basis, to serve as a one-on-one aide to a special-needs child in one of our classrooms. Throughout the course of that year, she became more and more involved in the school, and eventually started working as a classroom assistant. In the summer of 2003, she completed her Montessori training, and received her certification to teach pre-primary. She took over as classroom directress for Mrs. Tami in 2004. She has also continued her education, taking many hours of training in different areas. She is married with three grown sons. She has brought a wonderful energy and creativity to the program. She is extremely talented, and enjoys working with each student and making their time here at CMC an exciting experience.
Mrs. Millie - Classroom Directress
Mrs. Louisa - Classroom Assistant
Mrs. Millie began working at Creative Montessori Center in the mid-90's. It is because of her children that she first became involved with the school. Both of her children, Bobbie and David, attended CMC. She started working for the school kitchen and the nap room. After her first year she knew that this is where she wanted to be teaching. She received her certification from the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education Center in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She taught for a number of years, then took 6 years off due to some personal business. She has been back at CMC for 2 years. She says, "After such a long absence, when I first walked in, I knew that I was home. It is that type of feeling that makes teaching at CMC a joy. We are a family and our students and families become part of this environment." Mrs. Millie is incredibly energetic and creative, and brings a unique approach to her classroom. She is proud of the individuality that you find in each of CMC's classro oms, saying, "Each classroom will have its own unique way, yet we all teach to achieve the same goal." Mrs. Millie has been married to her husband Bob for almost 27 years. Both of their adult children are former CMC students. Her family is very involved in her classroom. Her daughter, Miss Bobbie, subs here (when she is home from studying elementary education at Central Michigan University), and also runs the summer program here at the school.

Mrs. Natalie- Elementary Directress
Mrs. Shannon - Classroom Assistant
Mrs. Natalie is one of our elementary teachers. Beginning Fall 2009, she will be teaching the first-third grades.
Mrs. Natalie took many education classes while attending Ferris State (and later transferring to Eastern Michigan.) After returning to teaching full-time, she began Montessori training and has received her Montessori 6-9 certificate.
Mrs. Natalie has been a part of CMC since 2006. She taught art class for two years, and then stepped into the 1st - 3rd grade classroom where she co-taught with Mrs. Kim. Now, she teaches first-third grades.
She is looking very forward to a fun learning adventure with her 1st - 3rd grade students. The curriculum includes Spanish and a three-year, cyclical program of global and in-depth continental studies. This curriculum will go hand-in-hand with the Montessori reading, math and science and will continue to flourish with the help of the specials' teachers.
