CMC STAFF

Besides the wonderful teachers here at CMC, we have a great administrative and support staff. Without these vital staff members, our operations could not continue as they do.

Mrs. Tami - School Directress

Mrs. Tami attended Creative Montessori Center from 1976-1983. While in high school, she returned to CMC to work in the latch key program. After graduation, she attended Eastern Michigan University, studying elementary education. In 1993, she went through the Montessori training center in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She interned here at CMC, and received her pre-primary certification in 1994. She has worked in many different areas of the school, from the specials classes and the library to the office. She was also the director of the toddler program for the Montessori Works Day School in 2000. She returned to college in 1993 to study American Sign Language, and currently teaches Sign Language to CMC pre-k students once a week. She was asked to take on the role of executive director in 2004. Tami is married with two sons, both of whom attended CMC.

Mrs. Tracy - Office Manager

Mrs. Tracy has been associated with Creative Montessori Center for almost as long as she can remember. Her mother worked for CMC for 23 years, and was a very important member of our staff. After Tracy graduated from high school in Flat Rock, she married a member of the United States Navy. Eventually, she and her husband went to live in Cuba. After they returned to the United States and her husband was discharged, she enrolled her daughter in Ms. Mary's class here at CMC. Her daughter attended CMC from 1995-2000, and her son attended from 2003-2005. In the spring of 2003, she came to work for CMC, taking over the job once held by her mother. She is the administrative assistant in the office, and handles a wide variety of responsibilities. She holds CMC very close to her heart, and is willing to work as hard as needed to help keep the program successful. Her responsibilities include staffing, maintaining student records, ordering supplies, answering phones, conducting parent tours, facilitating communicat ion with parents and staff members, among other things. She is the glue that holds the program together, and takes care of the day-to-day duties that are so important.

Mrs. Wendy - Latchkey Directress

Mrs. Wendy joined the staff at Creative Montessori Center in 1981.She has worked in all areas of the school, from the classroom to the lunchroom. For a number of years now, she has been responsible for the playroom area of the school. This includes the time during which the younger children nap, as well as after-school care. She takes her latchkey supervision and responsibilities very seriously. She has attended countless training sessions, and is always looking to learn and try new things. She is very creative, and prides herself in maintaining an enjoyable, positive environment for the students. She is the proud mother of two daughters, and the very proud grandmother of two of CMC's own students! She has been a very important part of CMC's program for so long; it's hard to imagine where we would be without her. She has become an invaluable member of our staff, and enjoys teaching the children in every step of their development.
